What this is

  • FireDepartment.Online is the department-facing brand of Fractal SAAS Inc., a company in Collingwood, Ontario, Canada.
  • It makes two things. FirePermit.Online is live and in use. A Standard Incident Report tool for the Ontario 2027 format is in development.
  • FirePermit.Online is burn permit management. A resident applies and pays online; the department sees every permit on a live map, declares a burn ban in one click, and receives the permit fee in its own account.
  • FirePermit.Online has been in use since 2020 by fire departments in Canada and the United States, and issues thousands of permits a year.
  • It is not a computer-aided dispatch product, and it is not a scheduling or payroll tool. The incident-reporting work is a Standard Incident Report tool, not a full records management system.
  • Nothing is sold on firedepartment.online. FirePermit.Online is bought through firepermit.online.

Status of the incident reporting tool

  • What we are building is in development. There is no ship date, and nothing about it is a condition of filing in 2027.
  • It is not available for purchase, and no price has been published.
  • The Fire Marshal’s own filing route remains available and free, and a department that files that way today can keep doing so.
  • The Standard Incident Report is a filing to the Office of the Fire Marshal of Ontario. It applies to Ontario fire departments.
  • The 2027 format applies to incidents dated 1 January 2027 or later. Incidents dated before that are filed in the 2009 format regardless of when they are written up.
  • The first quarterly filing under the 2027 format is due by 30 April 2027.
